Cycle the WAVE is proud to be involved in our community on many levels including memberships in both the Issaquah Chamber of Commerce and Newcastle Chamber of Commerce.
Net proceeds of the ride will support the services at Eastside Domestic Violence Program (EDVP) in East and North King County, DAWN (Domestic Abuse Women’s Network) in Seattle and South King County and New Beginnings in Seattle and North King County, to affect change for domestic violence in our communities. Last year, collectively these 3 agencies served more than 25,000 callers alone on their 24-hour crisis lines.
About our Partners:
EDVP’s mission is to end domestic violence by changing individual, institutional and societal beliefs, attitudes and behaviors that perpetuate it. To achieve this we work with the community to:
- PROVIDE services in East and North King County for people who have experienced physical, emotional or sexual abuse;
- PREVENT domestic violence through advocacy, education and support.
DAWN‘s mission is to end domestic violence by empowering survivors and fostering communities where abuse is not tolerated.
New Beginnings’ mission is to provide shelter, advocacy and support for battered women and their children; and to change attitudes and social institutions that foster and perpetuate violence.
