Training Rides & Miscellaneous FAQs

When will training rides begin? When the weather improves. We will be riding with LUNA Chix again this year and our training rides will be offered to registered riders throughout the summer at a variety of locations – Bellevue, Issaquah, Kirkland, Seattle, Bothell).  We encourage registered riders to bring a friend who may be interested in signing up for Cycle the WAVE!

Are the training rides offered for all levels of riders? Yes, all levels from various locations. Please check the website for regularly updated training rides and ride updates.

What does Cycle the WAVE stand for? WAVE – Women Against Violence Everywhere.

What if I can’t ride the entire distance? We will have limited transport available to take you back to the start. Your best bet is steady training all summer! Bring your cell phone.

What if I get a flat? We will have a SAG wagon along the course and mechanical help at each rest stop.   Additionally, members of the Lakemont Cycling Club – men’s division will be on bikes and assist with flats.

I like to listen to music when I ride, can I bring my iPod and wear my ear phones? Sorry, no, ear phones and any other type of personal music device is not only dangerous for you, but also for any rider riding near you. The waiver you sign at registration strictly prohibits them. Leave them at home and enjoy the sounds of fun!

I know someone who would like to sponsor Cycle the WAVE, who should they contact? Please contact our Sponsorship Director at mailto:sponsor@cyclethewave.org.

Is there anything special planned at the end of the ride? Absolutely! Our Finish Line Festivities are not to be missed! There will be fabulous food, great music and MANY very happy riders sharing tales of their day!
